Development Internship

The Development Intern will work with the Executive Director and Development Manager, the Development Intern will assist with cultivating and stewarding support for a growing arts organization in East New York, Brooklyn.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conduct research on potential foundation, corporate, and individual donors
  • Draft grant proposals, individual donor appeals, and additional fundraising language
  • Prepare supplemental materials for grant applications
  • Complete final reports for and maintain communication with with current and prospective institutional funders
  • Assist with coordination of special events as related to donor stewardship
  • Additional tasks as needed

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate program, preferably in the Liberal Arts, Arts
  • Administration, Communications, or another related area of study. Emerging and mid-career professionals interested in transitioning into a new field are also welcome to apply
  • Demonstrated commitment to or interest in empowering communities via the arts, entrepreneurship, and/or civic engagement
  • Residency or work experience in East New York a plus
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including good telephone etiquette
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Punctual and dependable with a professional demeanor
